✨ This is a live, participatory experience. You will practise witnessing another person and experience being witnessed yourself.

✨ You’ll receive a ready-to-use template for creating a clear, safe and congruent witnessing practice with your own audience, both online and in person.

A live two-hour practicum in compassionate witnessing for facilitators, coaches and space holders who want to create truly transformational experiences for the people they gather.

The art of witnessing

Most facilitators understand that listening matters. We create time for people to speak, ask meaningful questions and encourage participants to listen to one another.

But giving someone time to speak is not the same as helping them feel deeply witnessed.

There are different levels of listening, and most of us spend around 90 per cent of our time listening at the more superficial levels. We listen for information, prepare our response, search for the next question or decide what the person needs.

Most facilitators know how to give people time to speak. Far fewer know how to create an experience in which people feel deeply seen.

Compassionate witnessing helps people hear their own stories differently, access insights they may not have reached alone and form meaningful connections with one another. When you know how to facilitate it, empathy grows, the energy in the room shifts and people leave feeling lighter, clearer and more connected to themselves and the group.

It is one of the simplest and most potent ways to make the spaces you lead genuinely transformational.

You will experience what it feels like to be compassionately witnessed, practise offering that same quality of presence to another person and learn how to facilitate the complete practice with your own groups.

In this practicum, you’ll learn:

  • The difference between listening, witnessing and mirroring, so the people in your spaces feel deeply received rather than simply given a turn to speak.
  • How to stay present without fixing, rescuing or directing, so people can access their own wisdom and remain sovereign over their experience.
  • How to catch the essence of someone’s story and reflect it with precision, so they can see their experience differently and discover insights they may not have reached alone.
  • How to establish clear agreements, boundaries and choice, so people can participate deeply without vulnerability ever feeling forced.
  • How to facilitate one-to-one witnessing within a larger group, so every participant experiences both being seen and compassionately witnessing another person.
  • How to use prompts, timing, transitions and closure, so you can confidently recreate the complete practice with your own audience, both online and in person.

You’ll leave with an embodied understanding of compassionate witnessing and a ready-to-use template for creating experiences where people feel seen, connected and transformed.

Whether you are leading Circles, workshops, retreats, coaching containers, teams or community gatherings, you will leave with a potent practice for helping people feel deeply seen and connected.

In a world of noise, fragmentation, and AI, the greatest remedy is real human connection.

Hi! I'm Nele.

I will be your facilitator

I’m the founder of Wondr, where I’m reimagining how we build meaningful community beyond our homes and navigate collective uncertainty. Circle practice is at the heart of this mission. It has transformed my life so profoundly that sharing it with others has become my calling.

Over the past decade, I’ve had the honour of facilitating more than 1,500 Circles worldwide, both in person and online. My journey has taken me from boardrooms to deserts, from forests to corporate offices, and across countries including China, Dubai, Singapore, Europe, the US and Australia. I spent four years with Snapchat establishing their Council practice across APAC, and I’ve designed gatherings for groups ranging from three to 250 participants.

What sets me apart is the diversity of spaces I’ve worked in, bringing the transformative power of Circle to boardrooms, global retreats and everything in between.

Circle facilitation is the one thing I’ve spent more than 10,000 hours of my life mastering.

Over the past three years, I’ve trained more than 500 people in Circle Practices and Rites of Passage frameworks. It’s a joy to watch them carry this work into their own teams and communities, creating ripples of connection and positive change.

My facilitation style is grounded, playful and deeply intentional. My mission is to help more guides, facilitators and leaders create experiences that don’t simply inspire people for a moment, but transform how they listen, gather and lead.
